If you ask Amy and Laura what they love most about Mahjong, neither of them will say it's the tiles.

They'll tell you it's the people gathered around the table.

Although they now call Central Florida home, both Amy and Laura grew up in Texas, where hospitality, laughter, and bringing people together were simply part of everyday life. After finding their way to Florida, they discovered that Mahjong had an incredible ability to do exactly that—turn strangers into friends and ordinary afternoons into unforgettable memories.

What started as a shared love of the game quickly became something much bigger. They noticed that many people wanted to learn Mahjong but felt intimidated by the rules, overwhelmed by the card, or unsure where to begin. Amy and Laura knew learning didn't have to feel that way.

They created Make It Mahjong with one simple goal: make Mahjong approachable, welcoming, and genuinely fun.

Today, they've introduced hundreds of players across Central Florida to the game through beginner lessons, guided play sessions, private parties, corporate events, and their signature “Blowout Parties”. These themed evenings bring together roughly 100 women for an evening of Mahjong, great food, open bar, fun raffle prizes, and unforgettable memories.

Their teaching style is relaxed, encouraging, and filled with laughter. Questions are always welcome, mistakes are expected, and every class is designed to leave students feeling confident enough to pull up a chair at any Mahjong table.
